Abstract
Abstract The rotational spectrum of 2-iodothiophene in the excited vibrational states was assigned to the two fundamental modes. The rotational constants, the centrifugal distortion constants, and the nuclear quadrupole coupling constants for each of these modes, v = 1, were determined by using the first- and second-order perturbation method in the analysis of the nuclear quadrupole interaction. The vibrational fundamentals of the two modes were evaluated based on relative intensity measurements.
