Abstract
Terephthaloylbis(3-methoxy-4-oxybenzoic) acid was prepared from vanillic acid and terephthaloyl chloride. The acid was converted to dichloride, which was used to prepare polyamides by reaction with various aromatic diamines. The physicomechanical properties, heat resistance, and the structure of the resulting polyamides (in the form of films and fibers) were studied.
