Abstract
Formation of nonane in irradiated bacon has been confirmed by gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric (GC/MS) analysis of irradiated nitrogen-flushed homogenized bacon in sealed glass vials. Unirra-diated bacon did not show the presence of nonane under similar conditions.
