Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effects of application of Methyl Carboprost Suppository in cesarean section for prevention of postpartum hemorrhage. Methods Two hundred cases of patients underwent cesarean section in our hospital from November 2008 to November 2010 were selected, and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, each group had 100 cases. 10 IU Oxytocin were injected into myometrium and 20 IU of it was given by intravenous drip for all patients. Patients in the observation group were given 1 mg Methyl Carboprost Suppository after delivery of fetus by sublingual administration, also 1 mg of it was given by rectal administration after operation. The amounts of bleeding within 2 hours and 24 hours after delivery were measured. Results The amount of bleeding within 2 hours after delivery in the observation group was (331.2±121.3) mL, which in the control group was (372.4±176.0) mL, the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). The amount of bleeding within 24 hours after delivery in the observation group was (419.8±280.0) mL; which in the control group was (512.0±310.0) mL, the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion Methyl Carboprost Suppository can promote uterine contraction effectively in caesarean section, which prevents postpartum hemorrhage.
