Abstract
Abstract 2-Amino-7-(diethylamino)-3H-phenoxazin-3-one ( ADPO ) was synthesized by one-pot reaction. Treatment of 5-(diethylamino)-2-nitrosophenol with Na 2 S 2 O 4 in water produced ADPO in 20% isolated yield. Upon excitation with 590 nm, ADPO exhibited a near-infrared fluorescence ( λ em = 700 nm) and a large Stoke's shift (Δλ = 110 nm) in PBS buffer solution (pH = 7.2) with 5% (v/v) of polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (mPEG 550 , MW = 550) as cosolvent. Application to HeLa living cells imaging, ADPO showed enhanced fluorescence, low cytotoxicity and excellent photo-stability.
