Abstract
Abstract Na + -MMT-[pmim]HSO 4 , obtained from the immobilization of 1-methyl-3-(trimethoxysilylpropyl)-imidazolium hydrogen sulfate ionic liquid on nanoporous Na + -montmorillonite, was used as catalyst for the simple and efficient synthesis of 4,4ʹ-(arylmethylene)-bis-(3-methyl-1-phenyl-1 H -pyrazol-5-ol) derivatives via the one-pot condensation of phenyl hydrazine, ethyl acetoacetate and aldehydes. These reactions were performed at 80 °C under solvent free conditions with high yields in short reaction times. Low loading of the catalyst, simple experimental procedure and use of an inexpensive catalyst are some of advantages of the procedure. Also this catalyst can be reused several times without loss of its catalytic activity.
