Abstract
Abstract The structure of tetramethyl-1,3-bis(trimethylsiloxy)distannoxane is known from X-ray analysis. The proton magnetic resonance spectra of this compound demonstrates that its dimeric nature is preserved in solution. It is possible to make assignments for all the chemical shifts and coupling constants involving protons. The temperature dependence of the spectra shows that the dimer dissociates in solution. From the equilibrium constants obtained at several temperatures the strength of the tinoxygen coordinate bond is estimated.
