Abstract
Benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridine derivatives A = N; R1, R3 = halo; R2, R4 = H or halo, at least one being H; X = C (when the dotted line to X is a bond) or CH (when the dotted line to X is no bond); T’ = a group of e.g. formula (II); Z’ = O; R = SO2-alkyl; R5 = alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, heteroaralkyl, cycloalkyl, OH, O-alkyl, NH2 NH-alkyl, SH, S-alkyl, S-O-alkyl or SO2-alkyl. The cpds. are farnesyl protein transferase inhibitors, useful for treating tumors, especially pancreatic tumors, lung cancer, myeloid leukemia, thyroid follicular tumors, epidermal carcinoma, colon and breast tumors. One compound is especially claimed, e.g. 4(3,10dibromo8chloro6,11dihydro5Hbenzo [5,6]cyclohepta [1,2-b]pyridin-11(R)-yl)-1-(2-(4-methyl-1-methylsulfonyl-4-pyridyl)-acetyl)-piperidine.
