Abstract
Phenazocine (Narphen - SNP) is an analgesic comparable to morphine, morphine-like analgesics and pentazocine1 and was introduced into clinical practice about 10 years ago for the treatment of chronic pain and in terminal disease. It has also been used for obstetric and post-operative pain. We discuss its advantages and disadvantages.
