Abstract
P1,P4 -bis(5′-nucleosidyl) tetraphosphate pyrophosphohydrolase (dinucleoside tetraphosphatase, Np4Nase, E.C.3.6.1.17) is believed to be responsible for the catabolism of the proposed signal nucleotide P1,P4 -bis(5′-adenosyl) tetraphosphate (diadenosine tetraphosphate, Ap4A) and related compounds in a wide variety of cell types. It is also a candidate for the enzyme involved in the degradation of the purine ring store Gp4G during pre-emergence and early larval development in Artemia (see accompanying paper[1] for detailed discussion and references).
