Abstract
1. A study was made of the reactions of phenyl 2,2,2-trichloro-1,1-dimethylethyl phosphorochloridite with alcohols with formation of phosphorous esters containing three different alkoxyls. The acid chloride does not react with 2,6-xylenol, probably because of the presence of steric hindrance. 2. The rearrangement of the alkyl phenyl 2,2,2-trichloro-1,1-dimethylethyl phosphities with methyl iodide goes with elimination of the unsubstituted aliphatic group.
