Abstract
Sodium methylallyl sulfonate was synthesized by using sodium pyrosulfite and 3-chloro-2-methylpropene as raw material. The influential factors, such as reaction temperature, reactant molar ratio and reaction time, were explored. The optimum conditions for synthesizing the titla compound were determined as follows: 3-chloro-2-methylpropene 1.0 mol, molar ratio of sodium pyrosulfite to methallyl chloride 0.6∶1,3-chloro-2-methylpropene dropping into sodium pyrosulfite sloution and reacting for 120 min at 65 °C,Under the optimum reaction conditions the yield reached over 85%.
