Abstract
N,N'-bis[3-(3',5'-di-tert-butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl) propionyl] hexanethylene diamine was prepared with xylene as solvent by aminolsis of methyl-3- (3,5-di-tert-butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl) propionate with 1,6-hexane diamine in the presence of organic-tin as a catalyst. The influence of temperature, times, catalyst and the molar ratio of raw materials on the yield of the product were studied. The experimental result showed that the optimum conditions were as follows: reaction temperature ranged from 135℃ to 145℃, the catalyst was 0.6g, reaction time was 3.5h, the molar ratio of methyl-3-(3',5'-di-tert-butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate to 1,6-hexane diamine was 2.10∶1. The yield of the product can be up to 97% and 99% in 250ml and 1000ml scales under the optimum conditions, respectively. The purity of the product is very high. Melting point of the product is 161-162℃. The structure of the product was characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1HNMR.
