Abstract
STEVENS studied the effect of heat denaturation, chemical action, and enzyme action, on crystalline toxin-protein. By means of gel-diffusion tests they showed that this purified toxin contained several antigens. They also reported an apparent doubling of the Lf value when crystalline toxin-protein was submitted to the action of tribasic potassium phosphate. This work has been extended and the changes taking place have been measured by optical methods.
