Abstract
A method of capillary electrophoresis(CE) was developed to analyze the optical purity of p-chlorophenyl-1,2-ethanediol using sulfated β-cyclodextrin(S-β-CD) chiral selectors.The separation conditions were optimized through investigation of the effects of concentration of S-β-CD,buffer pH,running voltage,and the like.Under the optimized conditions,p-chlorophenyl-1,2-ethanediol samples were successfully separated.The optical purity of the p-chlorophenyl-1,2-ethanediol enantiomers was investigated,and the results determined by CE method were evaluated by comparing with those obtained by HPLC.The results showed that the enantiomer excesses(e.e.) of three batches of samples determined by CE were consistent with those by HPLC.This method is simple,precise and can be applied to the chiral separation of p-chlorophenyl-1,2-ethanediol enantiomers and determination of e.e..
