Abstract
Homogeneous pyrolysis of 1,4-dimethoxynaphthalene was studied. The yield and group composition of liquid products and the component compositions of the gaseous products and hydrocarbons were determined; the asphaltenes and neutral oxygen-containing compounds were characterized. The kinetic parameters were determined, and possible mechanisms suggested, for decomposition of 1,4-dimethoxynaphthalene with the formation of CH4, H2, CO, and CO2.
