Abstract
In the production Of vitamin A, an intermediate product 3-methyl-2-penten-4-yn-l-ol (I) is obtained from 3-methyl-l-penten-4-yn-3-ol (II) in an acidic medium in the form of Z-E isomers (Z-I, E-I) [5] according toa scheme described in [4]. Since during the further course of the synthesis of vitamin A, only Z-I isomer is formed, while E-I is an impurity (about 10%) [5], it was desirable to reduce the yield of E-I to a minimum, or to determine the conditions under which E-I isomerizes into Z-I.
