Abstract
Abstract Quinidine sulfate was given to a middle-aged man with “benign” auricular fibrillation of uncertain etiology whose repeated emboli were the only manifestations of his disease. The result was satisfactory, with restoration of sinus rhythm, subsidence of embolic phenomena, and maintenance of excellent cardiac reserve. The risks and benefits of the use of quinidine in such cases are discussed.
