Abstract
l,2-Dihydro-4-hydroxy-l-methyl-2-oxoquinoline-3-carbaldehyde has been reacted with some cyclic active methylene compounds, viz. l,2-dihydro-4-hydroxy-l-methyl-2-oxoquinoline, 1-substituted 2thiobarbituric acids, and 2-phenylimino-3-oxothiazolidine. The obtained exocyclic enone systems were reacted with hydrazine hydrate giving rise to the 3-pyrazolinylquinoline derivatives. All the given structures were verified by elemental analyses and spectral data.
