Abstract
Abstract Many fluorogenic reagents have been proposed and used in liquid chromatography for the sensitive and selective determination of catecholamines and related compounds (precursor and metabolites) in biological samples (plasma, urine and tissue homogenates). One of the recently developed reagents, 1,2-diphenylethylenediamine, allows the compounds to be assayed at the femtomole level on columns. This sensitivity is comparable to that in electrochemical detection.
