Abstract
Functional derivatives of 1,2-dihydrospiro[indole3,4′-pyran] can be synthesized by three-component condensation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds (acetylacetone, dibenzoylmethane, ethyl acetoacetate) with isatin and malononitrile [1–4]. Fused analogs, spiro[chromene-4,3′-indole] [5] and spiro[indole-3,5′pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine] derivatives are formed when dimedone and barbituric acid are used, respectively, as dicarbonyl component [3, 6].
