Abstract
The preparation methods,excellent electroconductivity,and electrocatalysis of noble metal nanocomposites with polyphenylenediamine such as poly(o-phenylenediamine),poly(m-phenylenediamine) and poly(p-phenylenediamine) are systematically reviewed based on the latest literatures and our recent research.It is pointed out that the polyphenylenediamine/noble metal nanocomposites with novel multiple functionalities could be obtained through electrochemical deposition,self-assembly technology,chemical redox and in-situ polymerization and reduction.The maximal conductivity of the composites is ca.1 000 times higher than that of polyphenylenediamine matrix,and the maximal peak current of the electrode modified by the composites is ca.70 higher than that of the bare electrode.They have shown great potential applications in the fields of electrocatalysis,modified electrode,and rechargeable battery.
