Abstract
Aluminium isopropoxide(Al(OC_3H_7)_3) is the important precursor in preparing nano alumina and aluminate luminous materials with the hydrolysis techniques of metal alkoxide.Fe is the key impurity that affects performance of aluminium isopropoxide.With the aim to illustrate whether an iron-free aluminium isopropoxide can be obtained by forming the high boiling point organic compound of the iron-impurity in aluminium alkoxide by chelate that underwent a vacuum distillation after the reaction,several chelate organic ligands have been selected and studied.The effect of chelate ligand on Fe removal efficiency was studied.The experimental results reveal that ON1,an N/O-containing organic ligand,has a good effect on removing trace Fe impurity in the aluminium isopropoxide.80% of the total product gives a high purity value with Fe-content being less than 10×10~(-6)(w(Fe)) when mass ration of ON1 and Al is 1∶160.
