Abstract
The reduced iron powder used as raw material is reacted with citric acid to synthesize the ferrous citrate. Then, the ferrous citrate is reacted with ammonia and the ferric ammonium citrate is synthesized by the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide. The conditions that affect the iron content of product include the preparation condition of ferrous citrate, the proportion of citric acid and iron powder, reaction time, temperature and the amount of hydrogen peroxide are discussed. The optimum technological conditions for preparation of ammnium ferric citrate are determined:n(citric acid)∶n(reduced iron powder)is 1.1:1,reaction temperature is 60 ℃, reaction time is 1.5 h, and 1.2 times the amount of hydrogen peroxide for theory.
