Abstract
OBJECTIVE To understand the killing effect of the three kinds of commonly used disinfectants povidone iodine(Iodophor),hand disinfectants, and symclosene(trichloroisocyanuric acid)effervescent tablets on the standard strains of Candida albicans strains, their differences and the resistance.METHODS The broth dilution method was used to determine the minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)and minimal bactericidal concentration(MBC)and the suspension quantitative bactericidal test was used to understand the killing rate of the disinfectants.RESULTS On the eight clinical isolates and the standard strains of C.albicans the results of povidone iodine were different but the hand disinfectants, and the symclosene effervescent tablets were without difference in MIC and MBC.The 10 min killing rate of 100 mg/L povidoneiodine,1/16 hand disinfectant, and 250 mg/L symclosene effervescent tablets to the standard strain and eight clinical strains was all 100%.CONCLUSIONS The resistance of eight clinical isolates of C.albicans to the povidoneiodine may be different, but in this experiment we don't detecting the resistance of clinical strains to the hand disinfectants and symclosene effervescent tablets. In clinical applications, adequatedly lengthening the action time of disinfectants can achieve the effect on killing C.albicans, thus reducing hospital infections, and protecting the medical staff and patients.
