Abstract
Calonyctin is a plant growth regulator isolated from leaves and stems of Calonyction aculeatum. It is determined to be an alycosida consists of one ethyl 11- hydroxy-hexadecanoate or ethyl 11-hydroxy-tetradecanoate, one 2-hydroxy-3-methyl- butyric acid and four rhamnoses. It has distinct effects on physiological activities in more than ten kinds of crops, especially for the growth and differentiation of plant callus.
