Abstract
This article provides an overview of the recent interdisciplinary research on the connection between sexual satisfaction and overall relationship happiness for couples. The authors discuss the literature on same- and opposite-sex couples and, cognizant of gender, race, and class differences, state a case for how specific aspects of sexuality, such as frequency of sex, emotion, and orgasm, affect individual and couple satisfaction.
