Abstract
The anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antioxidant activities of five new synthesized paratoluene sulphonamide derivatives of amino acids were evaluated in this study. The antiinflammatory and antinociceptive was evaluated using egg albumin induced paw edema and tail flick rat model respectively, at the dose of 400 mg/kg; while the antioxidant activity was evaluated in vitro using 2, 2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power assay. The compounds produced various degrees of anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities but did not produce antioxidant effect. The sulphonamide derivative has antiinflammatory and antinociceptive properties and can be used as drug for this purpose.
