Abstract
The statins, widely used for treatment of different forms of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglycerydemia, have a variety of chemical structures. Five common statins were investigated in this work: atorvastatin (2-(4-fluorophenyl)-b,d-dihydroxy-5(1-methylethyl)-3-phenyl-4-[(phenylamino)carbonyl]-1H-pyrrole-1-heptanoic acid), cerivastatin ((3R,5S,6E)-7-[4-(p-fluorophenyl)-2,6-diisopropyl-5-(methoxymethyl)-3-pyridyl]-3,5dihydroxy-6-heptenoic acid), fluvastatin ((3R,5S,6E)-rel-7-[3(4-fluorophenyl)-1-(1-methylethyl)-1H-indol-2-yl]-3,5-dihydroxy-6-heptenoic acid), lovastatin ((2S)-2-methylbutanoic acid (1S,3R,7S,8S,8aR)-1,2,3,7,8,8a-hexahydro-3,7-dimethyl-8-[2-
