Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of sodium ibandronate on bone pain and ameliorating physical motion of cancer patients with bone metastases.Methods:Thirty-five cancer patients with bone metastases were administrated 2 mg AIBEN every 2 to 4 weeks and twenty-five cases received chemotherapy or radiation. Results:The total effective rate of bone pain relief was 85% (30/35),with better results for breast cancer and multiple myeloma. The effect was more obvious when accompanied by chemotherapy or radiation.Seventy-seven 77% of the cases obtained good physical motion and 3 cases demonstrated complete response on screening. Conclusions:Ibandronate can effectively relieve bone pain caused by neoplasm metastasis and improve the physical motion of the patients.
