Abstract
Abstract Benzyltriphenylphosphonium dichromate could be used for oxidation of organic compounds such as alcohols, thiols and sulfides to the corresponding carbonyl, disulfide and sulfoxide derivatives under solid-phase conditions. This reagent is very easily prepared from an aqueous solution of benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride with CrO3 in 3 N HCI at room temperature. The reagent, is a stable orange powder, which may be stored for month without loss of its activity.
