Abstract
Abstract The solubility of 1,6-Hexanediamine in seven mono-solvents (1-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, n -hexane, cyclohexane, toluene and 1,4-dioxane) and binary solvents (1-butanol + cyclohexane) were determined experimentally by using a static equilibrium method over the temperature range from 278.15 K to 303.15 K at atmospheric pressure. It turns out to be that the solubility of 1,6-Hexanediamine in the mono-solvents is temperature dependent and increases with increasing temperature, While in (1-butanol + cyclohexane) binary solvents, the solubility is positively correlated with temperature and the mole fraction of 1-butanol. The λh equation, Van't Hoff equation, modified Apelblat equation, and Wilson equation were applied to correlate the solubility of 1,6-Hexanediamine in pure solvents. While in (1-butanol + cyclohexane) binary solvents, the λh equation, Van't Hoff equation and Jouyban-Acree equation were employed. Among the models used in this study, the λh equation stood out to be more suitable in describing the dependence of all the solubility values on temperature. Furthermore, the dissolution thermodynamic parameters of 1,6-Hexanediamine were calculated.
