Abstract
The solubility of N-chloro-4-toluenesulfonamide sodium and N-chlorobenzenesulfonamide sodium in ethanol, water, 1-propanol, and butan-2-ol was measured using a synthetic method in the temperature range from 278.00 K to 323.00 K and at atmospheric pressure. The disappearance of the solid phase in a solid + liquid mixture was monitored by a laser monitoring observation technique. The results showed that N-chloro-4-toluenesulfonamide sodium and N-chlorobenzenesulfonamide sodium have similar solid–liquid phase equilibrium behavior, and their solubility increased with the solvents in the order: butan-2-ol, 1-propanol, water, and ethanol. The results of these measurements were correlated by an Apelblat equation.
