Abstract
Abstract In current work aqueous solution of potassium prolinate (KPr) and potassium prolinate blended with 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) have been exploited in order to investigate the possible use of these salts of amino acid blended with alkanolamine for CO 2 capturing. The equilibrium solubility data of CO 2 for KPr blended with AMP solutions at 1.0, 4.0 and 10.0 wt% overall mass concentration are experimentally measured with an equilibrium cell at CO 2 partial pressure between 5.2 and 2583.9 kPa and temperatures ranging from 293.15 to 323.15 K. Measured data show that with increase in temperature and concentration of KPr and KPr blended with AMP, loading capacity decreases. Obtained CO 2 loadings are very high at low concentration of KPr. In order to predict CO 2 solubility in KPr blended with AMP, Deshmkh-Mather model is extended. The values of MSE, ARD and R 2 for the extended Deshmukh-Mather model are 8.8092, 0.0239 and 0.9864, respectively.
