Abstract
Atorvastatin (ATOR), [R-(R*,R*)]-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-β,δdihydroxy-5-(1-methylethyl)-3-phenyl-4[(phenyl amino)carbonyl]-1H-pyrrole-1-heptanoic acid, is a potent inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase and acts by reducing both cholesterol and triglyceride [1]. Ezetimibe (EZET), [(3R,4S)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-[(3S)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-hydroxypropyl]-4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-azetidinone], acts by inhibiting the absorption of biliary and dietary cholesterol [2].
