Abstract
Abstract The techniques of atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy were used to study the surface structural features of copolymer films of aniline—3-amino-phenylboronic acid. The film surface was segregated into well-defined domains of average dimension 150 nm. These domains were separated by boundary channels of width 100–200 A. The conductive properties of adjacent domains were in many cases observed to be quite different, suggesting that the copolymer had either formed into domain with varying degrees of protonation or had segregated into separate aniline and 3-aminophenylboronic acid domains.
