Abstract
Crystals of o-phenylenediamine dihydroiodide are orthorhombic; a=7.828(1), b=13.158(1), c=5.043(1) A, Z=2, and space group Pmnm. The structure was solved by the heavy-atom method and refined with 1359 diffractometer data points to the final R=0.052. It is isostructural with o-phenylenediamine dihydrobromide. Protonated amino groups link to iodide ions by hydrogen bonds.
