Abstract
Abstract Herein, we investigate the rare earth gadolinium (Gd)-substituted magnetoplumbite strontium hexagonal ferrites (SrGdM). The Sr1-xGdxFe12O19 (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.25) samples are prepared by using a solid state reaction method. With these prepared SrGdM components, a series of measurements are employed to characterize the structural property, valence state behavior and magnetic performance. The experimental values of M-H at ultralow temperature and room temperature (RT) are extremely approach the calculated one through computing by the empirical law to approach saturation. An apparent improvement of magnetization (Ms) and intrinsic coercivity (Hc) can be realized by substituting gadolinium in the system which ensure the practicability of this effective way. In addition, DSC-TGA analyses of SrGdM even reveal an excellent thermal stability since quite higher Curie temperature (TC = 736 K) for substituted sample, indicating an exceedingly wide application prospects and great interests in scientific research as well.
