Abstract
Abstract Two crystalline forms of 6-chloro-4-( N , N -dimethylaminemethylidenohydrazine)-2-phenyl-3(2 H )-pyridazinone, C 13 H 14 N 5 OCl, the unsolvated crystal and an inclusion compound with water, have been investigated by X-ray diffraction. In both structures, the molecules are linked into dimers by a pair of hydrogen bonds between the hydrazine and carbonyl groups. The inclusion compound contains channels along [100], filled with infinite chains of hydrogen-bonded disordered water molecules. The conformations of the molecules and their relative within the dimers are very similar in the two structures.
