Abstract
The preparation and properties of the complexes of isonitrosoacetophenone (HINAP) with Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) and the imino derivatives of Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes have been described. Their structures have been discussed on the basis of magnetic and spectral studies. The two colored varieties of (isonitrosoacetophenonato) Ni(II) are paramagnetic and have octahedral configuration, whereas Pd(INAP)2, Pt(INAP)2, Ni(C8H7N2O)2 and Pd(C8H7N2O)2 are diamagnetic and spuare planar. The reaction products of complexes of Ni(II) and Pd(II) with pyridine have also been isolated and examined.
