Abstract
The oxidative behavior of mosapride citrate was studied at a platinum electrode vs Ag/AgCl, 3 M KCl in different buffer systems using cyclic voltammetry CV and square wave voltammetry SWV. The oxidation process was shown to be irreversible over the entire pH range studied 2–12 and diffusion-controlled. An analytical method with adequate precision and accuracy was developed for the determination of mosapride citrate in phosphate buffer at pH 6 as supporting electrolyte containing 1:1 acetonitrile: 0.1% citrimide and 0.2 M phosphate buffer. The current signal due to the oxidation process was a function of the amount of mosapride citrate. The addition of surface active agent citrimide to the mosapride citrate containing electrolyte was found to enhance the oxidation current signal. The current vs concentration plot was linear over the range 5–44 gm L 1
