Abstract
The triethoxysilane is synthesized directly from silicon powder and ethanol catalyzed by the mixture of cuprous chloride, copper oxide and copper powder. The effects of the silicon powder granularity, reaction temperature, ratio of solvent volume to silicon powder mass, and ethanol adding rate on the reaction are studied intensively. The results show that the optimal reaction conditions for the direct synthesis of triethoxysilane are as follows:the silicon powder granularity 60~200 μm,V(solvent)∶m(silicon)=2∶1,reaction temperature 215℃,0.6ethanol adding rate(L·h-1)/reaction medium volume(L)0.8.The yield of triethoxysilane is over 80% and the reaction selectivity is about 90% under the above conditions.
