Abstract
The properties and cure kinetics of epoxy(DGEBA)curing system with furfuryl glycidyl ether as diluent were studied by mechanical property test and thermal property test.The activation energy of curing reaction of DGEBA with 10% FGE and reactive polyamide was obtained 64.66 kJ/mol by using Malek autocatalysis model and it was lower than that of the benzyl glycidyl ether(BGE)system.The tensile strength of the FGE system was 62.93 MPa and it was increased by 20% than that of BGE system.The tensile strain of the FGE cured product was 4.66% and was about four times of BGE.The impact strength of the FGE system was 36.17 MPa and was about 70% higher than BGE system.The glass transition temperature of FGE and BGE systems was 46.32 ℃ and 52.36 ℃,respectively.The 5% weight loss temperature of the two systems was 260.79 ℃ and 194.59 ℃,respectively.FGE was a good diluent for epoxy resin。
