Abstract
2-heptanone was synthesized by n-butyl aldehyde and propanone via cross aldol condensation, dehydration, catalyzed hydrogenation. NaOH was used as condensation catalyst, ZnCl_(2) was used as co-catalyst, and Pd/C was used as hydrogenation catalyst. The output was measured by gas-chromatogram and infrared spectrum. The amount of catalysts and other factors in condensation were investigated. The conditions on dehydration and hydrogenation were also investigated. Excellent results were achieved under the following conditions: 12% NaOH solution, ZnCl_(2) as co-catalyst, 15 ℃ reaction temperature, 3 h feed time, the stuff quota is 1:3. It should be dehydrated at 90 ℃ in acid circumstance and be hydrogenated at 70 ℃ temperature under 0.7 MPa pressure.
