Abstract
Carboxymethyl rhodanine was synthesized through addition, substitution and cylization starting from the material glycine and carbon disulfide in the same reactor. The synthetic method was improved by phase transfer catalyst. The effects of several factors on the yield of 3-carboxymethyl rhodanine were studied by performing orthogonal design, the yield of 3-carboxymethyl rhodanine was raised to 85.3%. This synthetic technique has the advantages of easier operation, shorter reaction time, higher yield and lower cost, and aversion from using organic solvents.
