Abstract
The interfacial polycondensation between 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1-dichloroethylene and 2,2-bis(chlorosulphonyl-4-methoxyphenyl)-1,1-dichloroethylene has been investigated with respect to the influence of the catalyst quantity, excess of the hydrogen chloride acceptor and excess of reagents on film-forming properties of the new polysulphonate obtained. The value of reduced viscosity was the process optimization criterion adopted for this purpose. The structure of the compound obtained was verified by means of IR spectroscopy. The polycondensation product was found to be well soluble in a number of solvents, e.g. cyclohexanone and methyl ethyl ketone
