Abstract
Mössbauer spectroscopy is used to study the structure of sintered (Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb)-Fe-B magnets and the initial alloy obtained via strip-casting and used in the magnets’ preparation. Terbium is made a part of the composition by adding TbH2 hydride, considerably improving the hysteretic characteristics of the magnets. Along with an increase in the local nonuniformity of the iron atoms’ environment, the study reveals the substantial normalization of the population of iron atoms in the Nd2Fe14B crystal lattice as a result of heat treatment and the incorporation of Tb atoms into the crystal lattice.
