Abstract
1,3-Propanediol bisoleate were synthesized from oleic acid and 1,3-propanediol using p-toluene sulfonic acid as the catalyst.The optimal reaction conditions at 160 ℃ for 1 h were as follows: oleic acid was 60 mmol;n(oleic acid) ∶n(1,3-propanediol) was 2.1;w(p-toluene sulfonic acid)=3.5%(upon mass percent of oleic acid);toluene was 20 mL.The conversion of 1,3-propanediol was 98% and the yield was 77% under the optimal reaction conditions.
