W B H-chelate z b f polymethinee ~ B i ¢ & ae ² B . z b o & o a 7 ' O» b a C { ~ & .ABSTRACT. 2-Quinazolylacetonitrile derivatives containing H-chelate have been synthesized from2-cyanomethylquinazoline using electrophiles such as 4-chloroquinazoline, 4-chloro-2-phenylquinazoline,4,6-dichloropyrimidine, 4,6-dichloro-2-phenylpyrimidine, 4,6-dichloro-5-phenylpyrimidine, 2-chloroquinoxaline,1,3-dichloroisoquinoline, 2,6-dichloropyrazine, 2-chloropyrazine and 4,6-dichloro-2,5-diphenylpyrimidine. TheseH-chelates may serve as a polymethine chromophore system. Structures of the target molecules were identifiedby spectral methods.
