Abstract
l-Aminopropane-2,3-diols display quite a wide spectrum of therapeutic activity. Compounds are known which have ~-adrenoblocking [4], hypotensive [5], and antiviral activity [i0], and are used for the treatment of myocardial infarction and glaucoma [6]. The compounds used most extensively in medicine contain the morpholine fragment [3], together with aryloxypropanolamine salts [7]. It was therefore of interest to synthesize and examine the antiviral activity of some l-morpholinopropane-2,3-diols.
